Somodó, in Gràcia, which serves MediterrAsian cuisine, is one of my favourite restaurants for a special evening meal.
Here are seven photos which should help explain why.
Pulpo (octopus) as served at Somodó.
Price:
Evening tasting menu — 35€ plus IVA, not including wine.
Lunch — 18.50€ plus IVA, and including wine and coffee.
Value:
Excellent.
Evening menu: 8 items.
Lunch menu: 3 items plus a choice of dessert, plus wine, plus coffee.
Quality:
Outstanding preparation and presentation.
Service:
Excellent. Chef Ochi will introduce each dish at your table.
Ambience:
Good, if a little impersonal. Only 19 covers. Small but not quite cosy or intimate. My only slight criticism of the restaurant is the lighting — for me it’s a little too bright. (Which helps when it comes to taking snaps.)
